Service ASC, erratic behaviour - lack of tune?
Service ASC, erratic behaviour - lack of tune?
I just installed evox fmic, ur licp, ur uicp, and hks ssqv bov 2 days ago. From before I have a dc sports CBE, k&n drop in, and Cobb ap running stage 1 -91 octane
So I'm driving on the highway in auto normal mode D6 and suddenly my 11 RA starts throwing service ASC messages. My RPM dropped to 2k and started fluttering between 2k and 3k and I lost all power to the throttle. I tried downshifting but I had no power at all and the engine was screaming.
I pulled over and idled, RPM kept fluttering between 1k and 2k, car is shaking. I pop the hood during the idle and the engine is shaking and is VERY loud. The screen is now saying service asc, service transmission, service 4wd. I turned the car off and back on and the same problem. I turn engine off and uninstall the ap from the car and set it to stock tune. Started up the car and voilą, ran fine.
Where do you think my problem lies? Is it the ap with non supported equipment? Lack of a tune or checking of a/f? Overboost? Am I safe to run stage 1 again?

HAH! Here we go, I knew I'd find 'em. Hope these help, as they sound like what you are describing perhaps.

Hey thanks guys! Those threads are exactly the right description.. So what are my options? Pro tune? Lose the bov? I really like having the ssqv, if I recirculate it, will it make a difference?

The ssqv is one of the worst Bov ever made. Take it off and put any other one on. Also the vehicle must have a recirculating one in order to even have a good tune. There are ways around this but the fact is unless you know a lot about how engine computers work it is better to just have a fvecirculating one. I don't know if this will solve your problem but I don't see how it will hurt.
