Hey guys, about 3 weeks ago I installed my DC Sports catback. Within the last few days I've been hearing some really annoying vibrations/rattles in my dash. It sounds like it's coming from the HVAC control area, or possible just under there in the ash tray.

Anyone else have the same issues? It only happens while the rpms are from 2500-3000.

 

yup... though, the rattle i hear/heard sounded like came from deeper inside the dash. Sounded like a wiring harness or something was vibrating against something. It's since stopped. So, I've never bothered with digging into my dash to find it.

 

Car isn't called the RAttle box for a reason =P

 

^[quizzical look] because mine is soooo quiet and rattle-free (especially compared to my Protege5 with urethane engine mounts )

 

At one time I thought my buzzing was coming from the dash too, but I actually found it was coming from the plastic housing of the rear view mirror! It has since gone away..

There are some harnesses in the dash that are taped up if you don't have MMCS. Could have been loosened by excessive vibrations from the exhaust.

 

Either Go faster or turn the music up- thats how i avoid hearing rattles and buzzing

first i would suggest to take a look at the glove box if you left something metallic .. it could be hitting against our very high quality hard plastic glove box...

and second...... me too, I get rattle on day one

You bought a Mitsubishi after all..

 

I get a rattle/buzz from the HVAC bezels.
