Relocation of trunk release button thread??
Anyone know who/where the thread of relocating the trunk button is?? I've been looking for days and can't seem to find it!! Tried the search with various different key words... =(
I believe the button was relocated to the rear bumper by where the license plate is. Very stealth.
If anyone could point me there, it would be appreciated...
Thanks!!!

THAT IS WHAT I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR!!!!!
Thanks chi-town!!
Ok now... the question is... how did you extend the wiring and get it into the bumper?? I'm assuming you had to take a drill to the bumper?
I am also thinking about getting the do-luck trunk!! It's a damn good looking trunk!!
Thanks chi-town!!

Just a simple wire extension from the loom to where I needed it and voila. I will say, however, that the plastic connector body used for the F.A.S.T. trunk release is not weatherproof so you will either need to eliminate it and hard-wire everything, or pack the backside of the wires/pins with silicone and put a rubber o-ring around the male connector end before installing. I know this from experience since mine corroded after about 6 months and I had to remove the bumper again to just cut out the connector and directly solder both wires for the switch.

Wouldn't it just be easier to completely delete it altogether and just use your manual lever or your remote trunk release? Lancers, base GSRs, and CF'd trunks all live with this on a daily basis and we're fine! How often do you use your trunk nipple button especially when it's covered by black carbon deposits from the exhaust!

It would definitely be easier just to delete and be done with it, but I enjoy doing little things like this to set my car apart fro the rest. For the minimal amount of work actually involved, its a worthwhile little trick.
