Very cold start, running rough.
I started my car this afternoon to go to work and the tempurature was at -38 C (-36 F). I forgot to plug it in the day before. It started after turning over 3 times, but sounded like it was running on only 2 cylinders. Also, the throttle did nothing, it would not work. The RPM's went from 0-250 on the gauge but the cars idle was not changing. After about 30 seconds it started running normally again. My question is if anyone knows whether that is a cold start feature or something along those lines. I do not have my manual to look at. I just want to know if its supposed to do that. Thanks
I think this happened to me this morning too. -30°C (plus wind chill) and when it started, it sounded awful. I turned it back off, and tried again. Then it started and sounded about as good as it could at that temperature. Boy, do I need to build a garage.

I use a block heater every night during the winter (Northern Ontario) and use 0w-30 and it starts like a charm every morning. Heater fires up within a minute. Definitely wouldn't go without a block heater. I think it was like a $150 - $200 add on when I bought the car.
