How often do you switch to Sport mode?
So, after reading this what's the point of EVER driving normal manual if sport manual is optimal? Also... does normal auto really hurt the tranny that much?? And last but not least... treat manual like a real manual correct? Like let off the throttle before a downshift? I want to learn early and have my transmission last... I'm not even at 800 miles yet and already pricing out my transmission flush cuz I care. (Just want to be prepared).
I don't think it really matters if you use Normal or Sport, as much as it matters that you're using manual mode over auto most often. I drive almost exclusively in Normal + manual. The only times that I flip over to Sport is when I hit the canyons.
concerning downshifting: When stopping or slowing down, don't downshift past 2nd gear (it gets jerky if you do... just let the car handle going into 1st). It's fine to downshift without lifting if you need more power to pass.

Normal/auto most of the time 90%.. start stop traffic.
sport manual 9%
sport auto 1% of the time ( last time i had this on, my wife almost Sh#t in her pants.)
I think if you're gonna use manual, it might as well be sport/manual. Normal takes forever to shift and i feel like i'm gonna fall asleep shifting in that mode.
i don't turn ASC off for safety reasons, i'm scared i'll spin lol

If your disagree you might be on coilovers where it's not nearly as noticeable.... on stock suspension and stock tires I've almost got the car to do what it shouldn't have to save the car....
Hope that makes sense, plus I hit corners REALLY hard and good speeds so that might be the reason why ASC don't like my driving.
I know for a Fact I'm not the only one who feels what I feel.
