Cheapest way for 250whp?
Cheapest way for 250whp?
Im looking for around 250-270whp on a budget. How would this be accomplished. Also I'm in need of better brakes. What would you guys recommend. Ik I've read all the stickies but still confused on what to buy. Thanks
Best bang-for-your-buck in the torque/power department...
1. Buy a Tactrix OpenPort 2.0 unit.
2. Buy a boostpill.
3. Flash razorlab's free Base Map using EcuFlash.
4. Fit the boostpill.
5. ???
6. Profit!
Brakes are harder. The front factory rotors are woeful - both diameter and width are inadequate. Also, the front factory calipers aren't very rigid.
If you are NOT planning on track driving, you could replace pads with aggressive semi-competition style compound and get away with improved pedal feel. Slotted rotors will help too. It may spew out dust everywhere and squeak/graunch badly, but pedal feel will improve.
For fluid, use fresh, top quality DOT 4 or DOT5.1 (not DOT5), and ensure the system is totally air-bubble-free... of course.
That'll feel better and stop well 3-4 times in a row... but anything beyond that will overheat the fronts in a big way.
Hope that helps.
