Hey guys,

How many of you have the hks drop in filter and notice a pretty big increase in the noise of the bov? I'm asking because I recently got one and its pretty loud compared to stock. I've read the how to's and I'm well aware about the tricky bottom clips on the bottom of the box holding the filter. I have checked and rechecked and everything is secured tight but I'm just nervous because I have read others people's reviews sAying its not really any louder.

 

I've got the HKS filter and it's much louder than the stock filter. Same deal, checked to make sure the airbox is properly closed. You'll notice that the HKS filter doesn't have a rubber gasket running around the edge like the OEM or other filters as well which may be contributing to more noise as well.

 

mine fits in there just fine, i dont have a big increase in sound, certainly noticeable from stock, but i wish mine was a little louder.

anyone drive without the air funnel/snorkel thing?

 

I had the HKS filter and, yes it does increase the sounds you don't hear from the stock filter. You can hear the BOV go off under boost when you let off.
