2013 Ralliart body mods?

Hey everyone, earlier this year I acquired my very own Rally Red Ralliart. I was going to wait until winter and do some modifications to her while the snow falls. However the timeline just jumped up a couple of months due to some hail damage, the hood has 14 or more "dings" as well as a couple on the roof and one on the rear drivers side fender. The insurance company is covering everything and I'll have a substantial amount of money to do whatever I want.

Long story short I am thinking of changing out the hood to carbon fibre and putting on a body kit. My question is on the 2013's are the Lancer parts interchangeable like years prior?

Also if anyone has suggestions on other body kits that they prefer let me know as I'm still waffling on what I should do, not 100% on how a CF hood would look.

Thanks.

Hey sorry to hear about the damage. Mother Nature can be a real ***** some times. But I would recommend going on the show and shine section to see other rr evo's and ralliartcharge that have carbon fiber hoods and see how you like them. As for the body kit I would say save your money. In my opinion they arnt that great. If anything I would say get the evo fenders and front bumper if you want the X look.

A carbon fiber hood would look good but over years unless its good quality it will start to yellow or fade, but if its good quality and you take good care of it it can look really good. You can also get just the carbon fiber hood scoop and vents as well and save a ton of money and still look damn good. As far as a body kit, most are cheaply made and will cost a good amount of money to be fitted and painted, not to mention the cost of the kit itself plus freight fees! If anything go with a lip kit. I have a front carbon fiber lip and looking to get side skirts and rear diffuser soon, but hard to find. I dunno what all if anything is done to your car but I would look at getting a tune to bring out some of that horsepower and some lowering springs and maybe an inexpensive set of wheels or plastidip the stockers.

Carbon fiber hood (or used RA or EVO)
putty-fill and sand the roof hail damage and do a carbon fiber vinyl I]wrap [/I]

Do a dry-ice paintless dent removal for the fender!

From what I understand you rub dry ice in circles around any small round dents (from hail, rocks, etc.) and due to the metal contracting due to the extreme cold it pops back into it's original shape.

I haven't tried it but I've heard about it before.

Close...
on a hot day apply a sharp edge of a chunk of dry ice to the dimple. It should contract the metal and 'pop' back without damaging the paint. Hot day/really cold ice is the key.

I have seen Safeway[tm] food stores and some WalMarts carry dry ice. Maybe line up a few other cars in the same condition - and it would pay for the ice, eh?

Handle dry ice carefully! Follow all safety precautions!

i've tried it (with dry ice) on my black car in the middle of a 100F day in SoCal ... didn't work for me. at best it made the area around the dimple cooler to the touch, at worst it gave me minor frost bite on areas that weren't protected enough.

Dent removal is awesome these days. I had someone lean on my car and had some smaller dents. They made it look like new in under 30 mins.
