02 lancer body kit

Hey guys. I have some questions concerning body kits for the 2002 lancer. im sorry i know this question has been asked over and over so many times. ive been searching for the perfect body kit for over a year now since i got my oz lancer and i still cant find a nice one that i like. i read around here but everyone whos asked this question has gotten answeres of body kits ive already seen. i think ive searched enough by now cuz ive found the following kits for my car: (Various Companies)

-Tracer body kit
-Evo VII Techsport
-Evo VII Extreme edition
-Kaminari body kit
-Apex V-1
-Apex V-2
-Evo VII V-2 kit
-Ken style
-GTRS kit
-Walker kit

Ive seen the new body kit coming out by Accolade in jan/feb
EvoSpeed kit - pics if you're interested-

but honestly, im sorry to say this, i dont really like any of em. the only one close to what i am looking for is the evo VII Extreme kit but its still not quite there. i was gonna order that one but i keep hearin bad things bout accolade so i dont know what to do anymore...what i really am more impressed by are the kits made by veilside but i dont think they are made for 02 lancers. i saw one for evo VIII its the VS D1 GT model and another for the evo VI - DTM Racing edition (Wide Body kit)..

if you know any other body kits besides the ones listed or a way to fit those other kits on my lancer without TOO much modification please help. thanx

Yeah i have heard lots of bad stuff about accolade and i have heards lots of great things about them. I guess its just what u want to pick up on. And then u always have kulancer here always defending accolade on everything that comes up about them.

(Just kidding dan about that, unless u think i'm not cause then i'm not, but really, i am. )

accolade has seemed to turn around pretty good since then. they still have their problems, but i think you would feel safe to go with them. and its not the "new kits", its just the new management ethics.

what he means about the old kits being bad was that when the company first started their kits had terrrible fitment. They then revised their designs and made better molds for the kits. So the "newer made kits" have better quality and fitment.

If you order from them directly you have a better chance of getting a newer made kit which should have better fitment.

Do they still have the shipping problems with beat up kits? Well, let me clarify that, do they pack them well?

I have no idea about their packaging quality as I've never bought anything from them, just relaying what I've heard.

In addition to my previous post, the more recently made kits are made out of poly-urethane reinforced fiberglass instead of regular fiberglass. This makes them more like a plastic than a hard unflexable fiberglass. I think this contributes to better kit quality because the "plastic" kits are less brittle than regular fiberglass so they are less likely to crack during shipping.

But the poly urethane fiberglass kits do have a down side to them. Since they are not full fiberglass they cannot be fixed as easily should they crack.

Theres a thread on here somewhere comparing the pros and cons of kits made from poly urethane and from fiberglass. I'd recomend searching for it if your interested.

or you could always contact a body shop and make a custom kit for your lancer if you dont like the current choices. Someone on here already did and made a quite impressive widebody kit for his car.

misunderstood you how? ive been here for a while, ive seen it all. IMO, the problems were with their management. there were some decent kits produced back then, but for the ones that had imperfections or got damaged during shipping, accolade would take no responsibility for it. however, things have since changed and their management is pretty stand-up now. and accolade kits have always been made of PFRP.

to the thread starter: you should also try and contact sleek concepts. he is a member of the boards and that is his name. hes working on some custom body parts, so he could possibly do something youll like.

the old kits were not 100 percent fitment, **** it, it was the past, lets just stay present... Accolade kits are the way to go... no need for a body shop except for paint. if you can use a screw driver and socket wrench then u can install accoalde kits*....

*some kits require crash bar modification..... use of power saw.
