I think most people underestimate the RA and just assume its a "regular"lancer. I have surprised and embarrassed a few people with this car. Now don't get me wrong I'm not saying it's some rocket (especially mine, it's stock) but I usually get the jump on people because they don't know what it is. What do you guys think ?

Yeah the sedan is a sleeper, especially in like white or gray, the sportback not so much because you don't see them that often and in my opinion they are more aggressive like the Wrx/sti hatch

I consider mine a sleeper for multiple reasons one and already stated, its associated with the base lancers especially the gts's because same half wing and identical wheels and we don't have the same aggressive wide body like the evos do. 2 the people who know me and my car know its awd boosted but recognize it as the baby evo and automatically assume that almost anything can smoke it. but that isn't the case i can give the mustang gt guys a run for their money, i may not always win but it surprises the **** out of them when i am fender to fender with them or when i am a door ahead. so yes i would consider them a sleeper. especially when you have no wing i got confused for being a gts with a fancy hood for the longest time until cocky gts guys raced me and wondered why they couldn't keep up.

Even though I have a sportback I get that all the time, I just go with "yeah it is one of this rare Evo wagons, let's go with that"

I debadged except for the RA sticker...

manny/many people have 'no idea' what it is and assume it is just an econo grocery-getter...

uhm, and then i get on it.

The look on the BMW 335i owner's face (and his female companion) was priceless as Veronica gains five (or more) car-lengths on him from a dig...

simply priceless.

How do you manage to get through our required 2 year emissions test here in Maryland with a test pipe?

Pretty sure he swaps the stock cat back on before inspection, thats what i do, here in NC we don't have emissions, but a visual check/code check. on my old subie i just welded the heat shield off the oem cat on my catless downpipe, it fooled the local inspection shop lol

I'm pretty sure you're not talking about street racing, right?

You missed this obvious reference to street racing. I don't know many tracks that let you do passes with a passenger.

Anyways, I'm somewhat torn on whether to call the Ralliart a sleeper. It does share a lot with the base Lancer, so people can easily confuse it for the base Lancer, but people also confuse it for the Evo.

Any tuned RA especially one with a turbo swap running stock muffler would be a sleeper. problem is most people who tune their cars run an aftermarket exhaust.

Yeah i just lost my last ounce of seeper today, i ditched my magnaflow muffler, for a custom straight pipe, no im completely straight piped, LOUD does not even to describe the way it sounds, i pulled up next to a new camaro, and he revved up at me, but hid himself in his seat when his exhaust was drowneded out by mine

Cant wait till auto x season.
