Running Rich and Looking to Pull the Trigger
So I am almost there! Just a few more details and I should be a ralliart owner in the next few weeks I think. With this possible auto transition comes two questions.
I understand that this car runs rich and I understand from reading here and researching the term exactly what it means. Further reasearch says simply to remedy a car running rich, get a tune up. What does this tune up entail for the RA? Would I just go to a mitsu dealer and say my "car runs rich....fix it please?"
And the second part of my questions. I have a deal on a 2012 Wicked White Ralliart Sedan with 7,500 miles on it, fully loaded leather, nav, sunroof, sale price negotiated would be 22,400. does this sound about right?
Thanks everyone

That's a pretty good price fully loaded with low miles.
A Tune is different from a dealer Tune-up.
The dealer will always flash\Tune to factory specs.
The "Tune" that is mostly used on these threads are modifications to the ecu to get better performance out of the car over the modest factory ecu specs.
Read up on the GST base tune threads, most of your answers will be there.

High LTFT would be a good indicator of a rich/lean condition. o2 mV would read high. Probably a strong exhaust smell as well.
a rich condition isn't necessarily a tune up. it could be anything from a leaking injector to a faulty MAF sensor or O2 sensor.

Short answer - better running rich than lean (with a turbo car)....
Does soot build quickly on the exhaust tips?
Either way - Get the car! Then do some research on GST tune, etc. and develop a plan for the car.
These cars have Beast Mode inside! [evil laugh] It just needs to be released.
