Power steering line leak solutions ?

Yesterday, my steering wheel started getting real jerky and difficult when turning left.

I stop the car and pop the hood. The power steering reservoir is damn near empty. I look further down to the rear of the engine bay and there is fluid all over the place.
I had to drive 10+ miles with no power steering and 255mm wide tires.

I get the car in the air and most of my under carriage is caked with power steering fluid.
It looks like the lower line is leaking and straying fluid everywhere from the pressure. I'm guessing a seal broke.

My initial plan was just to replace the line, seals, and bolt.
But when I attempted to unscrew the bolt, I couldn't get enough clearance to fit a wrench in the tight space or get any leverage to put any force into un-wrenching it.

Does anyone have any experience on removing the lower power steering line ?
Do you have to drop the subframe to remove the the power steering line ?
Is it possible to use some sort of sealant to stop the leak ?

No 'stop leak' solution...

Get a 'circular crows foot' for your socket/extension set up.

You can try to tighten the line first. If it doesn't help - remove the line and inspect the face (where the line meets the pump) and the seal (on the pump).

Good luck!

my brake hard line stripped using craftsman flare-nut wrenches (newer made in china set are garbage).
use snap-on only open-ended flare nut wrench or flare nut crow foot like Veronica said when dealing with those soft hard line nuts.
You might just need to loosen it, push in the hard line while tightening the bolt.

I know it's been a while, but I wanted to update this thread.

My biggest problem was finding a crowsfoot that would fit into the tight space and have enough room

The 1st foot i bought was straight crap, just ended up stripping the flare nut. Got it from Advanced Auto Parts.

The 2nd foot fit over the nut perfectly, but I didn't have enough room to turn the socket.

My next option was something that looked bootleg as hell, but it got the job done just right.
Bought it from a guy off Ebay.
I think he took a flare wrench, chopped off the tip, and welded it back together @ a 90 degree angle.

Looks like the line got crushed.
New on the left, old on the right.
