Torn between cars

I have not been on this forum since the 2003 Lancer days.

So now I am up for a new car and I am torn between 2 cars.

2011 Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback Ralliart at 66,000 miles. Apex silver with basic interior. Good service record and 1 owner for $12,995.

2013 Mitsubishi Lancer GT at 34,092 miles. Black with leather, sunroof and subwoofer. good service record and 1 owner at $11,962.

Both at lower price than value and both under the miles.

One says trubo, all wheel drive and fun fun fun. The other says nice and practical. Then I look at average mile per year to come then in 2 years how many miles will be on each car. Leather is nice but tends to crack and wear bad sometimes. Sunroof is fun. But, that all wheel drive and turbo.

URGH. #firstworldproblems.

I need technical feedback and some practicality.

Well I'd say baby Evo.. if you get a lancer than you'll be wishing you got a turbo awd the whole time you own the lancer.

Yeah,

Definitely Ralliart, you'll love the Turbo + AWD, maintenance long term may be a bit more expensive due to the AWD/SST/Premium fuel than the base Lancer, but no mod can bring the base lancer to a Ralliart.

Depends.
DD that is practical and will be relatively trouble-free and low cost to operate? GT

Fun car that will exhilarate you? That you mod and accept the higher operating costs? RASB all day. With relatively inexpensive mods you are at 80% of the power of an EVO X.... [evil laugh]

Annnndd the exclusivity of a RASB - I have only seen one other RASB in person. EVER. Maybe one for sale at any one time in North America. Yeah. rare.

What he said! I've only seen a couple of Sport Backs and it was one RA and one regular. With the RA I would make sure they did or would do the 60k mile service if not already done. Both seem to be great deals and I don't think you could go wrong with either, but yah, Baby Evo is my choice.

I've still yet to see a RASB.. So exclusivity would definitely be a factor there for me between those too.. plus owning an RA isn't bad for operating costs. Just need to remember to put money aside for trans fluid and filters at least once a year if you like to have fun!

The only reason to buy the "regular" Lancer is if you want it strictly because you like the way it "looks". If you want something that looks good AND is also fun to drive, then the choice is easy......
