My winter set up
Well after some thought and being the superficial person that I am
I decided not to get steel rims and I opted for something with a little more athestic value.
What do you think?
Sacchi Wheels 16"
Michelin X Ice Xi2 205/60/16
I got them on last night and today it started to snow.
To bad its only a few flakes because I am looking to put these new winter boots to the test.
Sorry for the crap photo its from my Black Berry
Cheers

Please! For the last 7 years I drove a mustang gt with 315's on the back in the snow. All I would do Is put a few hundred pounds in the trunk and away I went. This year will be like a cool dip in the pool with awd even if it has summer tires.

They are working real well for me
This is my first set of snow tires in 31 years of winter driving . I too drove a mustang in the winter and relied on my cat like reflexes and superior driving skill. Winter roads never scared me or stopped me from going to where I wished to go.
But now... Winter is my Biatch!

I'm not digging the 16's or the style to be honest. Better than steelies and I'm sure they are fully functional in the snow though. Couldn't you find a 17" at least. That's a gang of sidewall showing. Those xIce tires were rated #1 by consumer reports in their winter tire shootout this year.
I was in the same boat. Well, sort of. I couldn't even find any steel wheels that fit the evo online, not that I wanted them. I decided to go aluminum. I started looking. Most places bottom dollar evo wheels are around $200ea. I found out Discount tire has some decent 17" aluminum wheels that fit around the brembos starting at $130 ea.
Snow tires in 17 are still pretty cheap. I got mine for $103ea.

To the OP- Those wheels are hideous! I thought you were joking for a second. They belong on a riced out Probe. I don't know if steelies would look better though I guess. Get some 2gb Eclipse stock wheels for around $100. They fit and look good.

But again thanks for your opinion.
I guess I best not post my choice in winter apparel lest I get categorized as making another fashion faux pas!

Well thanks for sugar coating it. They work and IMO they are better than steelies.
