Do coilovers really make that big of a difference?

its simple... if your tracking get coils because of the possibilities of adjustment if not and just want a better look..... springs and an alignment

There's plenty of reasons other than tracking a car to want coilovers, but it all boils down to adjustments. Plus, springs + shocks always seemed like a guessing game to me.

downside of most aftermarket shocks, even adjustable ones wont allow you to switch setup to inverted type, or use something with a much wider piston diameter. with increased spring rate from lowering springs and reduced travel, you're running the risk of bottoming out and damaging the shock. trust me, unless you have perfectly smooth roads everywhere you drive, springs and shock combo wont even last two summers.

I have driven on Arizona roads lol compared to Toronto, Winnipeg, and Montreal, its perfectly flat lol perfectly!!!
