Do coilovers really make that big of a difference?
There's plenty of reasons other than tracking a car to want coilovers, but it all boils down to adjustments. Plus, springs + shocks always seemed like a guessing game to me.
downside of most aftermarket shocks, even adjustable ones wont allow you to switch setup to inverted type, or use something with a much wider piston diameter. with increased spring rate from lowering springs and reduced travel, you're running the risk of bottoming out and damaging the shock. trust me, unless you have perfectly smooth roads everywhere you drive, springs and shock combo wont even last two summers.
