AMS Lancer Ralliart with and FP Red installed... SST loves it!

After putting the EVO X turbo on the Ralliart for a while with good success we hooked up with Forced Performance and decided to throw their venerable FP Red on it!

Many people are very anxious about the ability of the SST to hold up to upgraded power levels. We are very curious what it will be able to handle as well.

The AMS Ralliart current has installed on it:

AMS UICP
AMS FMIC
AMS Down pipe back exhaust
AMS Intake
AMS Boost Pill
AMS Small Battery Kit
AMS Prototype SST transmission cooler kit
AMS Custom Tune using ECUTeK
FP Red Turbo
DW 800cc injectors

After a bit of rescaling tables that previously never needed to be touched on the GSR's or the other MR's with smaller turbos, I got it tweaked out to the numbers seen below. This is using the factory single solenoid boost control system and one of our boost pills as well. Boost hits about 24-25psi and only drops to about 22 by redline.

The car now makes over 150whp more than it did from the factory. With the help of our friends at ECUTeK we now also have the ability to firm up the shifts on the SST, which helps it slip less when changing gears and also heat up the fluid less. It *MAY* increase the clamp load, but I am not 100% sure on that yet. Currently our SST transmission is showing no signs of slippage at all when under power.

I am very pleased with the results. This turbo makes about 60 more whp than the stock turbo did in the higher RPM range, which is exactly what I would expect from and upgrade like this.

PS. Where's that video you promised awhile back? The one that would blow my socks off. Name: 1-1.gif

AMS, simply amazing.
I would love to see track/drag vids.

looks like it will be more beneficial to keep it in manual and shift at 7.5k
since the sports mode will prob shift it at 6ish.

Badass. Can you please do an overlay with the stock turbo and/or stock X turbo?

That's great Chris! Good results and I'm sure the SST guys are happy as well. Now, with increasing the torque numbers, do you expect the SST to still hold up as well?

What is the reason for passing up on installing a downpipe or lower intercooler pipe?

Not trying to answer for AMS, but I would assume it would isolate the results of the FP red application... ?

I don't think anyone makes a LICP for the MR that will retain the stock air box. I think the RA is the same.

Very nice. It'll will be interesting to find out if clamping loads are affected. Some after market tuner company is going to have to eventually crack open the SST and find out precisely what is going on in there. As for keeping it under 300WTQ, was that just a safety precaution for now? As usual, good work, AMS!

That's friggin awesome... thats exactly what my local tuner told me would have been possible by swapping the stock for an FPRed; Gregory from Machines Gone Wild (MGW) he told me he knows u guys over there... is that right Chris?

Well those are indeed some sweet numbers.... the TQ being so low, im assuming you guys don't want to smash the SST right? how about increasing the TQ slowly but steady and see the results?
