Thanks. Good to know. I knew I wasn't looking for a regular EVO 8 BOV for a reason.

these are the cheapest I have found outside of ebay or here in the forums, you can post a Wanted To Buy (WTB) ad in the EVO IX or EVO X section

I think it is supposed to be a direct swap. I wouldn't think that it would change anything or require a tune.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I know, the two BOVs are mechanically identical. It just happens that one is plastic and one is metal. Basically, one can withstand higher boost and more abuse.

if you invest in the turbosmart dual port, you can really get most of the best aspects of both worlds... recirc and whoossh.

^ +1

You should be able to remove the plastic one, and the Evo one should fit perfectly...no new hoses or fittings or anything.

Is anybody on here running the Turbosmart BOV? Is it direct bolt-on to the RA or is there any modding of hoses and such? I want to upgrade to a good recirc BOV and it would be a bonus to get one that sounds good too.

evo ix mr bov has a nice sound, it is even better when the boost is raised during a tune

No, but the real point to upgrading your BOV is FOR a tune, so that you can run more boost without leaking.
