Uicp/licp

My last thread was closed and I did not have a chance to check my computer for replies...so I am starting a new one.

Once again if I was to swap out the stock pipes for some after market ones, which ones do you guys suggest and do any of them come with a blow off valve?

Also is it worth putting on a blow off valve to get the whoosh sound and are there any gains/losses with it?

Your Post

Just change the LICP, the UICP is fine unless your running like 30psi of boost. No reason to change the upper one, the HP gains are nil unless your running a big turbo with lots of boost. the LICP is a must. My ten cents....

I'd disagree with the above...the lower would be my last swap if you had to choose 1-opt for the AMS or bushcur set up imho, I had the buscur and loved them, a guy here in MN has an AMS set up and has been doing great (gates, cough cough ).
the upper has more room to "swell" under full boost then the lower/cold pipe. Cobb has a pretty decent set up that looks good too-if you go with a full cobb set up, you can invest in a AP and have a pretty good Daily driver on the roads!

I think they just had it backwards.

The OEM UICP is the ****tiest design I've seen in a long time... flexi hose to a coupler that drops the size 1" to more flexi hose.

Ugh.

You can't go wrong with any of the UICP offerings on the market. I have AMS and they are great, I highly recommend them. LICP isn't necessary, as zero to minimum gains are seen when adding it.

You don't really need a BOV either - once you get an intake (I recommend the AMS intake), you will hear that nice whoosh you are looking for.

I went to the local tuning shop and talked to them about a blow off valve, the guy there said it might actually be a negative and reduce engine power... has anyone had any luck with an after market blow off valve?

This thread got closed on you because it has nothing to do with Engine Management / Tuning. You posted in the wrong section again. It will probably get closed on you again. Maybe they will just move it to the correct section for you this time.

No need for a BOV

We have plenty of kits in polished and black in stock. Also, our lower IC pipe is completely 3" for reduced pressure drop.
