What load and rpm?

If it's 60-80 load, 1200-2000rpm, I'd say just ignore it. Even factory tune does it in this range. A lot.

Yep pretty much in the low rpm and load for 1-4 knock sums. In a 5 mb log file 2 hr drive, couple pulls and stuff in between, knock sum 4 came out twice one after the other. Quite random I would say too. I'm not really worried, but just seem to see more knocks at low rpm and load lately and just wanted to iron it out. Not sure if its a bad batch fuel thing or what or should I retard timing in that range, I know it's nothing prob to worry about but I like things to be perfecto lol... Actually nothing better to do in my spare time

I think the idea is that 99% of the time, having more advanced spark in that region is better for fuel efficiency and/or torque. The other 1% of the time, a temporary retardation is applied by the ECU if it knocks. We're talking low-load, low-rpm here, where cylinder pressure is low.

I've got logs of 7-10 knocksum on stock tune (just with mode 23 enabled)... at that low-load area. It's a factory "feature".

The dumb AUTO mode of the SST makes it happen quite a lot - it is happy to take a bit of throttle below 2000rpm without downshifting.

I use manual mode all the time, and will downshift to bring revs up for any throttle. So my logs aren't stuffed full of this grumbling knock.

I'm guessing you'll have to hook it up to Tactrix. I have a Innovate LC-1 collecting dust because I haven't had time/figured out how to install. Muffler shop welded the bung on for $20. They commented most of the time people drop the cat and use a test pipe instead. Not me....

Does anyone else get the p0012 code popping up on their car with the Basemap.

I'm running v31.003 2009 USDM + Boost pill, 91 Octane map.

If i try the stock pill or boost pill maps the code pops up, If i flash back to Cobb AP Stage 1 the code doesn't pop up but their Maps are ****.

Any ideas?

What should I log to see whats occuring in here?

Thanks,

NEWB

I don't know what P0012 is. Is this MIVEC intake cam advance or exhaust cam retard related? If so, use RAX Fast Logging, and look at the map vs. actual MIVEC angles.

It doesn't strike me as a direct-tuning-related problem. Indirectly, perhaps, like if COBB tune doesn't ask for as advanced InVVT as Bryan's tune. If there is a MIVEC mechanical problem, the code might not be triggered on COBB's maps.

But I'm guessing, sorry.

In the log, see if the InVVT "actual" is close to the requested/map value. It should be pretty close.

The ExVVT is a different story. That always lags quite a lot, particularly when the required ExVVT retard is pegged back towards zero (from negative). The mechanics are never able to keep up with the intended ExVVT timing - that's normal on 4B11, it seems.

Sorry I haven't had time to keep up on the recent postings on this thread.

How do thing stand with the boostpill testing for the 2013 model year?

I recall someone had kindly volunteered to get a wide-band sensor installed for logging. Has that happened and if so, what were the results?

Also, how do I go about sending a donation?

Thanks.

You need a test-pipe or hfc to properly run the TBE map. Look in the f/s section on the forums, you can usually pick one up, used, for a good deal cheaper than sourcing a new one.

Still no WOT wideband data for 2013 base maps.

It's only September...
