2009 Lancer Ralliart - GST Basemap
Just wanted to comment. We have had temps in the single digits and some negative with wind chill. I have had no issues with the V2 flash and pill. Still very happy with everything! Thanks Bryan!
Hey Bryan,
This is very...ODD
SO I turn off Lean Spool, which helped immensely! I went from counts of 6-7 (one 8) knock to counts of 2-3 (two 4's) knock. Much easier to handle and clean-up.
But, there seems to be an unintended side effect:
I just noticed that my Boost reading is....well... wrong
It was reading perfectly before, vacuum at low loads, peaks of 22-23, holding 18-19 strong to the end. Now there is no vacuum its always reading boost, and I'm supposedly hitting 37 psi.....at 40 mph??? Obviously if that was the case my engine would be destroyed (I check, it didn't fall out the bottom on the way back, haha).
So apparently lean spool had an impact on the EVAL of Boost for EvoScan. Do you have ANY idea how to fix this???? I cant honestly believe these are accurate, otherwise at 35 psi w/14 afr at a load of 180, my car would spontaneously combust (no but seriously.....)
Thanks,
Steve
EDIT:
Im using PSIG as labeled from your thread (2009+ EvoScan address/ info); that is boost correct?
This is very...ODD

Nothing to do with lean-spool.
Wow! Thanks a bunch Bryan!
Just got my Tactrix 2.0 cable and loaded the 2011 93 octane + boost pill flash and I can already tell a difference in the car.
Also paid for the Evoscan software but my old Windows laptop died (garbage laptop battery) before I could log much. Wish my Mac would work with the 2.0 cable. Actually, haven't tested it yet but been reading about it not working. Once my Windows machine powers up more I'll do some logging but after my 1 min run with Evoscan running, I saw no knocks which is great. Not enough time to see what boost was doing. Had a funky feeling about boost pill going back in. Seemed like it was trying to lodge itself at a bit of an angle instead of lined up with the hose.
Thanks for all your hard work Bryan and I can't wait to hit the track in the next week or two and see what this thing can really do now!

omegis-
Just a friendly reminder, when writing to the ecu its best to have the laptop plugged in. If ur batt dies during a write, you can brick the ecu. I use a converter and plug it into the aux socket in the center console

Oh, I know better than that. I wouldn't write to the ECU on battery power. I was mentioning problems using Evoscan to datalog because my laptop kept dying. I had the computer plugged in for the download of stock ROM and flash of GST tune. I do need to do some reading though because I feel like I'm logging info wrong. Need to go browse through some posts and educate myself a little. Would be awesome to see a dyno chart on Evoscan even if it is just a estimate.
BTW, not trying to go off subject but I used Dynolicious on my iPhone 4 back when I had my '09 GTS and have yet to try it on the RA. Fun little app and reminded me a little of the hp/tq graph computing weight and acceleration from Evoscan.

Bryan,
Fourth time cranking the car since flashing with 2011 RA maps @ 93 octane w/ boost pill upgrade and had the CEL on, P050B. Temperature according to the dash was 56 degrees. Weather has varied over past few days between 30-60 degrees but this is the first occurrence.
Wasn't a big deal because I carry a OBDII scanner with me that I picked up a year ago for cheap so I was able to clear it no prob. Other than that the basemap has been great. Looks like my mpg went up too.

Im on the 2011 USDM/CADM - 91 oct with boost pill tune and im getting the same CEL, random too. Temps between 24-60 outside. sometimes I get it, sometimes I dont. I never get it a second time after clearing the code either. yea other than that its amazing!! so much more power and better gas milage!
Maybe it was a fluke. Haven't seen the CEL again. So much fun since the flash that I'm debating when to install my EVO X FMIC + UICP. I know the car will need to be retuned so I may hold off until I get an exhaust.
I spoke too soon I just threw a CEL after work at start up. I cleared the CEL before I checked it because it drove fine and I figured it was just what you guys had. I got some feedback on how to check with the tatrix and evo scan if it happens again.
Haveing same problem happened after messing with cold air intake and mass air flow sensor, found a bad O-ring on the sensor got a new sensor on order will let you know if it fixes the problem......it also happens more often at temps of -14F or less
