K... I finally got my car back in one piece, and now I have another question?? The timing chain has been replaced, and as well as some tensioners. The guy who owned my car before me "dogged" the **** out of it, and now, recently when I took my car to an auto shop, the mechanic tells me that my car is leaking oil in my cams and burning out my exhaust. Says he can tell this because he wiped his finger in my exhaust, got a bunch of "****" on his hand. Not only that, my car has also not wanted to start, which I am thinking because of my O2 sensor, and sometimes when I fill it up with gas, u can evidently smell it "in" the car jus driving around, like it's blowing thru the AC. But I take my car to the dealership, and they say my car is burning rich because it has a aftermarket short ram intake, and that actually burning rich can caused alot of damage to my car. They also tell me to find the warranty intake, and they will fix it if it does have a problem.. I also been told I should jus give my car a good tune up, or tune my car not to burn so rich.. But i have no freaking idea wat to do, so could somebody please HELP!!!!!

I just had the warning lights this afternoon, is it alwys because of the timing belt?? I took it to a shop for them to take a look and they just filled out my Coolant, which is strange because I only have 26k miles on my car. They told me to bring it to the dealer. I am thinking that it would be for the tire pressure but I remember that it doesn't look like the warning I had before with the tires. I was inspecting my tires just for the heck of it and found a nail on my front tire. I'll bring it to the shop where I bought my tires so i can get it fixed for free. Hopefully that is causing the warning lights.

For all those who got their timing belt changed, did the warranty covered it??

In your owners manual it will tell you what the symbols and warning lights mean and the problems they represent.

That black "****" sounds pretty normal to me! My RA has tons of black carbon all over the inside of the exhaust pipe.

I'm running the GST boost pill tune, and that runs rich at WOT - sustained hard driving (track) sees AFRs as fat at 10.0:1. An un-tuned RA will apparently run even more rich than that.

Rich

PS. Sorry, gotta say it... Seriously, wiping a finger around the inside of a turbo'd car's exhaust pipe, as a means to test for excessive burning of oil?

I bought my 09 ralliart with just under 40k miles last week, and driving to work triggered the Check! light. I brought it to autozone to scan it and they said there was no codes.. Any advice? I live about an hour from the dealership, and would rather not take the trip if it's nothing..
