I was once like you. Running 28-30psi stock turbo with alcohol in my evo 8. One time on a a hard launch on the 1-2 shift I NLS, and POP!

No more boost! "holy crap I blew my turbo!" Wrong!
These mitsubishi turbos are tanks. Just like the engine blocks. They can take a beating.
The piping and couplers are the things that can't take it. It blew off the coupler off the turbo outlet on the LICP.

Then I welcomed the T-bolt clamps on everything. And never again IC pipes blowing off.

If your going to get it fixed for that much. I would just bring it to TTP or something for them to fix it. Or goto AMS.

Put in a EVO X turbo and tune. The evo x turbo and ralliart turbo look identical when installed with heat shield.

i know the most common problem is the i/c piping blowing apart and whatnot, but if you check all connections and it seems good, check your cat. it seems you still have the factory catalyst on the car, going by your sig, so just pull the 02 sensor that sits in the center of the cat and look inside.
we actually had a car come into my shop that we simply could NOT diagnose properly for some time. wouldnt build boost, but no cel. felt/sounded a bit like exhaust restriction, but couldnt see it by unbolting the exhaust cause the outer ends of the cat honeycomb both looked fine. finally somebody came up with the idea to pull the 02 sensor and lo-and-behold, the space in the center of the cat where it changes from the primary to the secondary element was full and clogged with broken catalyst material all over the place blocking the exhaust flow and creating too much backpressure for the car to get any kind of boost. btw, this car only had like 600 miles on it at the time, so it hadnt even had much chance of getting really beaten on. i know its highly unlikely, but something else you can check out, jic its not the usual piping issue.

I find whoever is selling a FULL evo turbo swap for $275 shipped is retarded. Theres no way you can buy a working turbo, manifold, O2 housing, down pipe, oil/coolant lines, intercooler, pipes, etc. for that little without being broke.

I'd start if the maf sensor. No matter what, that will need to be replaced. I'm going to assume you are using the K&N filter that came with the AMS intake. K&N filters have great performance, but they are oiled filters. Oiled filters can leave a buildup of oil on the maf, which will wreak havoc on your entire system. If it is not giving the proper readings to the ecu, performance is always limited. I went through 4 mafs on my old 1.8t vw, and I always used dry filters. Every time it went, the vw would go into a limp mode and limit boost, though it never reached zero boost. Like I said, no matter which direction you go, that will need to be replaced, so why not start there...

I still don't get how your turbos spooling but not producing any boost....that definitely sounds like a leak somewhere.

I'm thinking that it might be the waste gate selenoid. Becuase it controls the waste gate. What do you guys think. Is there any way you can test it?

ya you unplug the vacuum source. which it sounds like they did and run it like that. it should still get boost. but just lower boost. whatever the spring pressure is in the WG actuator basically.

Thats your problem then. You should have a good amount of resistance when pulling the wastegate arm.
