Genuine Ralliart muffler

I have considered getting a genuine ralliart bolt on muffler for my Ralliart. It is the only muffler that will keep my warranty 100% intact.

The downside? $2000AUD!! Any thoughts on this? anyone got one?

Cheers,

it is not the only muffler that will keep your warranty 100% in tact. If the dealership told you that they are simply using scare tactics to make a big sale.

A muffler change can and will not hurt a system in anyway. Nor will a cat back exhaust and the thought otherwise is silly at best.

Im not 100% sure on the laws in aussie, but i doubt they differ a tonne from here. At most, the addition of an exhaust component can only void what it touches. ie. if its cat back it can void the emissions warranty on the cat or the entire exhaust portion itself.

Mate thats what I would have thought but I have consulted 4 different mitsubishi dealerships and they all said the same thing. ANY change to the car not done by them voids my warranty FULL STOP

at this point you need to take it as nothing more then fear mongering.

there are plenty of aussie guys with mods, and until you hear this specifically from someone higher up then a dealer.

Wait, are you saying you want to put the stock Ralliart muffler back on? If so, what did you do with the stock muffler that came with the car when you bought it? I'm confused.....

"Ralliart" is 's performance brand, just like Nismo is for Nissan and TRD is for Toyota.

He's not referring to his stock RA muffler, but rather an "aftermarket" Japanese Ralliart exhaust.

Im sorry but 2k for a muffler is just retarded, you should take your self out back and give yourself a good slap just for the idea.. If you really are just looking for a muffler(sound) then order an aftermarket one.. and if you ever need to do a dealer visit then just swap it out with the stock... 2 bolts really wont take you long to swap back and forth...

Just an idea.

You can replace the exhaust with a Catback without voiding your warranty. If you do a full exhaust or replace the cat then warranty becomes an issue.

Seriously, the Ralliart exhaust doesn't sound much different to the stock exhaust. Definately not worth the money IMO.

MPS Garage in Aus is selling the CP-E catback for 1/2 the price you're looking at for the Ralliart muffler only. This sounds much better and will be the one I get.

Awsome thanks for the heads up I will give them a call tommorow. I really want an exhaust note out of the car. I am also considering the option of rebolting the original one one when it has it services

Cheers guys,

I just saw the exhaust on the website looks sweet. And under $1000. The warranty thing still scares me though. Have you heard this exhaust or do you have a sound clip?

Cheers,
The dealer should not be able to void your whole warranty just replacing the catback. They definately will void your exhaust warranty (but who cares as you've just replaced the parts anyway). It comes back to the good old days of dealers saying that if you didn't get service through them the warranty was void. This is complete ****. As long as a licensed mechanic does the service and genuine parts used, warranty can't be voided. Exhaust is the same. It's all scare tactics. I would change dealers if I were you.
