Boost Gauge

Now I've read the forums on installing the gauges and that part is fine. My question to you guys is where? I'm looking at different locations. a small digital readout down by my cigarette lighter, a mechanical gauge either between the two "humps" above the cluster, to the left between pillar a and the cluster, or just buying a two pod a pillar mount, clipping that in and just putting up an air/fuel gauge or something.

direct question being, if you have installed one, where did you put it? Second side note question, I know there was some frame size changes, minor but there. will a standard lancer GTS a pillar gauge cluster fit? I want to avoid that useless gauge ricer look. So cleanliness and looks are important.

Yeah, that was the pillar gauge I was looking at. a shame they don't make the ABS plastic single pod, I like that but I don't want to pay that much money for a single pod lol. Oh well, I am going to call them and see if they can use the mold to make an ABS plastic for cheaper. looking at the other column mounted single/dual pods they just look like they will get in the way.

if you want it to look stock go with AMI they cost more but IMO it looks better than the rexspeed.

mine is mounted on my steering wheel column on the left side. I have pictures on my vista side of my dual boot and will post later.

My AEM Uego is also on the column on the right side.

I don't think it'll fit ours but i'm 100% on that, ask secondchace what he used. He has a similar set up.

stay away from the pillar because not only you might have to drill a hole on your pillar(which ruins the pillar down the road) to route the wiring, but i think it looks very ricey IMO. I bought mine with three gauges on the pillar, so i moved two of them on my steering wheel column. Not only i had to remove the pillar pod BUT i had to replace the pillar too cause the one had a hole in it from the wires of gauges going through.

Yeah, that's why I decided on the column mount. maintains a nearly OEM look, but still gives me a damn boost gauge... for $30k you'd think I'd have one damnit. Ohwell, more important is my test pipe and evo x BPV replacements. decided I'll just go with the metal evox part instead of a loud BOV. BPV from the evo is bolt on, sustains a bit more boost, plus the test pipe which will let it breath and get higher anyways... will even out. Once I order the cold air intake and boost pill, then do the GST pill flash, be sitting at like... 230-240 on the ground. Shouldn't be too bad

i wouldnt advise running an intake on the gst or any other canned tune. you will need one designed for the intake.

Running the gst tune with pill, with a test pipe and catback would be a better bet, or an upper intercooler pipe.

Trust me on the intake though, not tuned right it runs low 13's AFR at wot, not good.

I agree to watch out for the intake but you might be able to run this set up:

oops did I throw that in there? my bad. Yeah going to run the GST with pill and test pipe, that will be fine. once the intake comes in I will actually have to track down an AWD dyno and get it actually tuned. $100 but it's not too bad, I'm like $500 away from a good 40 or 50 hp more. Hoping I can get the local shop i used to take my 240 to to just do the initial GST flash for me.
