The sound was painfully loud in my Ralliart. I had to take the cat back section off the vehicle. Under acceleration the noise in the cabin was too loud to talk or hear anyone talking. The worst was the drone, at cruising speeds it gave me a headache. Without the cat back section (downpipe and HFC only) the noise is fine, power better than stock. I have the cat back section for sale in Australia now.

Nice quality stuff though.

Bringing it Back!

Great short article for those not wanting to run an aftermarket catback exhaust.

I personally am going to be running the Ultimate racing downpipe with the Ultimate racing HFC in conjunction with the OEM exhaust. This thread answers most of my questions, although I am wondering if anyone else has this setup or has additional experience/info on the setup.

I plan to tune it soon after installation although unsure if it needs to be done RIGHT AFTER the install or if it is ok to drive it for a little. Evo is my DD. If anyone else has a working video clip willing to post or send the link that would be appreciated being that I am trying to keep the droning/sound in general down of the vehicle.

Other mods will include: Injen intake, injen UICP, Greddy RS bov, UR HFC, UR DP.

Thoughts, suggestions... thanks everyone.

Tune is not immediately necessary with those mods except with the combination of all things you may want to leave the intake off until tune day, if possible. I know it doesn't "technically" call for a tune on its own, but with all things installed you might encounter a hiccup or two.

I was thinking the opposite, put the intake and upper on with bov? Hold on the DP and HFC until tune.

i bet replacing the the stock mid pipe and deleting the resonator on it while leaving the stock muffler would sound pretty good too. i changed out my cat and dp as well and not too satisfied. gonna get a custom mid pipe made up pretty soon.
