Can i do downpipe and high flow cat with stock exhaust ?
I know i know theres hundreds of threads reg which down pipe or high flow cat ? But what i need help here is this. I have a 2011 GSR with ETS intake & uicp and as soon as the cobb ap is available for the 11 models i will be getting that as well, but what i need help is can i run a down pipe & high flow cat with stock exhaust ? because i dont want to replace the exhaust due to there to loud and just cant have it. So can someone please help me here and if you think its fine and defenite hp increase by them alone then which down pipe & high flow cat do you recommend because theres a few out there. These are the only 3 companies i want to go with.
1) ETS Down pipe with high flow cat
2) Cobb Down Pipe with high flow cat
3) AMS Down pipe with high flow cat
They all bolt on to the stock exhaust so thats good, I want the ETS but im worried the down pipe might crack one day and its kind a expensive, Cobb is cheaper then all but worried as well that it might crack, the AMS down pipe looks like it could take serious beating and the fact it has the flex, so again please someone put me on the right track here. Thank you
Just in case your wondering, but what if you decide to do more work in the future or larger turbo etc. The answer is no, the down pipe and high flow cat will be my last mods.

cobb makes a quiet CBE. there is also a company that re fabs the stock ones for better flow but remain the stock look. you do know there are 2 different kinds of Dp right? type 1) from O2 housing back (4 bolts and about 15 min work. type 2) O2 housing replacement (4-8 hrs work w/ lift) not insulting your intelligence, some don't know.
You can do that, but the catback section is the most restrictive part of the exhaust. Also, there will be quite a bit of turbulence going from a 3" downpipe and catpipe down to a 2.5" catback, so any gain that you would normally get from those two front sections would most likley be negated with the step down in pipe size and the restrictive catback.
