Have you had TSB 11-13-008 done?

Note that the list above (which appears to have been copied from another site) didn't include this or the oil-control solenoid.

electrical system: Software: Mitsubishi: Malfunction light is on with a stored trouble code related to the camshaft sensor. There is a programming error causing a mis-detection of a fault. 2008-2011 lancer evolution. *rm updated 1/11/12. *pe updated 4/13
thats what that TSB is

I had this before, like the first poster replied, it can be all of the above problems. I took it to the dealer and they reset the ecu and in their words "relearned the timing chain". The problem then went away. If you're under warranty still, this should all be covered by the dealer. But best to hid your mods from them.

Out of curiosity, why suggest that he hide his mods? The one mod that he has that could be argued to have played a role in something like timing-chain stretch - viz., the tune - will still be detected when they check for reflashes (which they most-likely will do, on orders from corporate). Am I missing something here?

I had this same code pop up on me a couple of months ago. I reflashed to stock and removed the aftermarket intake and UICP. They had the car re-relearn the timing chain learned value, and reflashed the ecu with an update. As stated, best to remove mods if possible, in case the problem ends up really being a bad timing chain, which is a costly repair and could have Mitsu corporate balk at the warranty claim, blaming your mods (i.e. added power, torque, boost, etc.) for the premature failure.

just sent you a pm.

If you have someone local to you that has a tactrix cable either a tuner or someone that knows about flashing , they should be able to fix the error.

If you know someone with access to Mitsubishi MUTIII tool, then you can run the procedure to re-learn the timing chain learned value. Without that, I'm afraid you're stuck having to go to the dealer. That light will come back on after less than 100 miles each time you reset it.

I don't think so, Jerry....

I'm not familiar with the extra step called "benching". What does that do?
