ultimate racing intake with cobb stage 1

trying to figure out if its ok to run this intake without getting my car re-tuned... i was thinking i wouldn't because its using the factory MAF from what i can see...

i'm running the stage 1 93oct map, found the intake for cheap for like 50 bucks so figure why not but wanna check to see if anyone has any experience with this combo before i go wasting any money...

or if someone can give me some advice on adjusting my tune since i have accesstuner race, but i never ventured into tuning

I wouldn't put the intake without being tuned for it, you don't want to run in some problems with your car.

If you are using the factory MAF housing, you MAF sensor should read the increased air flow and adjust the gaz mixture accordingly.

If you have access to a Wideband sensor, I'd recommend looking at your AFR. At idle is should oscillate between low 14 and may sometime go close to 15 (like 14.9). If you see it above 15, remove it put back your stock one and go get a tune.

If it's in safe range on idle, try to do a run. It should never go above 14.7 when you're below 3000RPM and when you go above, you should first look at your Fuel injection map to see what is the target AFR. And use common sense to see if you actually run lean or if you're safe.

If you want to venture tuning your car, you should really be using a wideband sensor and I'd recommend a few other gauges (boost gauge, Oil Pressure/Temperature). Always do minor changes and monitor their effects. If you go too fast you increase your chances of doing something stupid and blow your engine

Look in the EVO X Engine Management section to get some better knowledge about how to tune and what is safe for our engine.
