Transmission Vibration

I've been noticing a bad vibration on deceleration in 3-4-5-6 gear from 2700 down to 2100. I can really feel it in the steering wheel, and is audible. Anyone else have this trouble? I'm going to take it to the dealer in the next week to see what they say.

I feel this too, I think it is normal DCT behavior.

Dual clutch transmission.

OP: I've felt this before too. Try doing the deceleration in manual normal and then manual sport mode. Do you feel any difference?

Never made the distinction, I'll try that when I'm in the car later today. It's always been in auto normal mode

From the beginning there is vibration. What i have noticed though is the vibrations have become more noticable. I'm @ 12K right now.

I have felt it to. It's been about 2k miles now and it has not reappeared. I was told it was normal when I had the service dept. check it. But you know how that goes.

I would say that is normal. This transmission is noisy.

I have this too but usually in 4th or 5th gear. I've just decided to not get myself worked up any more over clunks, and vibrations with the tranny. The SST is one noisy unit and it sounds like **** is breaking constantly but from what I have read it seems to be very normal.

Do the GSR manual guys have this much trouble? How about the SST MR EVO?

You'd have to check their sections.

What I will say is that DCT's in general are noisy and clunky. My GTI had much louder gear whine than the TC-SST in my RA, clunked just as loud on the first few shifts and in general, sounds like it's an inch away from tearing itself apart.

In general though, I get much more vibration due to the AWD nature of the RA...namely that odd vibration and resonance around 2000rpm (typically easier to feel in 4th gear and higher). It's like my car is telling me to stop babying it, so I just downshift when I feel it. The problem is, 4th and 5th are kinda far apart ratio-wise, so when I drop to 4th, I'm at 3000rpm @ 70km/h (it would've been about 2100rpm @ 70km/h in 5th).
