grey smoke

when I step on the gas from a roll I get some greyish smoke that I can see in my rear view mirrors. It's enough to notice in the mirror so this isn't normal. Its only when I step on the gas and get the turbo going. Could it be my turbo going bad? (I only have 15k miles on the car)

Any mods or tune on the car currently?

If you've been doing regular oil changes and you're not low on oil, the only other thing I can think of is maybe it's because the cooler weather is here now, so the exhaust may be more visible than it was during the summer months.

Our car do tend to run pretty rich and thus produce some dark colored smoke.

If you think it's really abnormal, show it to your dealer and ask their opinion. And then bring your newly acquired knowledge to the forum

But I suspect it's just the normal smoke you get because the engine runs too rich. The stock image is particularly rich. If you switch to GST you should notice a small difference on the amount of smoke and also a better MPG

Yeah mine did that too when I had no my car stock. I put the AMS stage 0 flash on and it went away. The RA runs really rich. My mpg went from an avg. 23 mpg to 33 mpg when driving from Dallas TO Lubbock (which in my opinion is really really good! it is an uphill trip the entire way) .

My car does the same thing. My buddy pointed it out when he was behind me with his GTI. Most cars in the road spit out that grey/black smoke when you romp the crap out of it.
