Smoke on left turns only?

So for what ever reason, I'm getting smoke that I can see from my rear view mirror, on spirited left hand turns, and at no other time. Anyone have some input on this problem?

Stay off the NASCAR circuit and you'll be fine!

when you make a left hand turn ur able to see smoke because the exhaust is on the right side so if you smoke at all it the trail will blow towards the left and you will see it.. same reason you dont see it on right hand turns when you turn right the smoke will stay on the right... ur car is smoking.... which isnt normal.. so have it checked out..

Maybe I have been at work too long, but that sounds reversed. If you make a R/H turn, the Exhaust is on the R/H side of the car, and you will be able to see it better because of this. With a L/H turn, the exhaust would have to go opposite the airflow and across (parallel to) the bumper.

Maybe I am just have two left feet.

Maybe your inner wheel well plastics are rubbing on the tire. Look into your front drivers side wheel well, on the backside corner of the wheel well. If you are getting rubbing, it will either be there, or on the front side about 4-8" in from where the front bumper wheel arch ends.

Has anyone else had this issue? I am having the same issue... smoke ONLY at/after a hard left hand turn (actually only during autoX events, not during daily driving).. only when turning left. I considered it may be the PCV valve, as it is on that side of the engine, and would make sense if oil is sloshing around there, I replaced it though and have had the same issue. No smoke under acceleration, braking, or turning right. I have checked oil again and again and have had no loss in oil (engine doesn't normally burn oil).

Any thoughts, sorry for old thread, but I figured why start yet ANOTHER one... but if there is no info to be had, I'll start a new thread. Thanks.

This isn't rubber, it is oil smoke, (rubber isn't burning out of the exhaust )

white/blue tint, obviously oil by smell as well.. dismantled intake system, found considerable amount of residue in the FMIC, cleaned it out well, also put a breather vent on the vacuum side (driver's side) of the valve cover, rather than recirc back into intake. We'll see how things go at this weekend's event.

the oil pick up tube in the oil pan is on the left side of the motor near the tranny bellhousing so if you oil level shifts to the right in a hard left turn you might be oil starving the motor temporarily.

I would try running an extra half quart and try it again.

Also I have heard of this problem blowing engines before, but usually it happens in very long high speed turns.

I have the same issue. It just started the last week or so after I got an oil change. The guy put in one quart too much and I also switched to royal purple from mobile 1. It is an oil burnt smell. I knw that smell very well. I smell it because I have twin dumps under the motor so it comes in the car. Still haven't figured this out yet.

i just replaced the PCV on my car as its in the passenger side
i just have to see if that helped at all
or solved the issue
ive also noticed alot of oil around the oil cap, it looks like its spraying out or at least a slow leak, im assuming too much pressure in the crank case and it could be the issue here
odd that its left turns only
