Exclamation Possible problem with the ETACS for the ACD.? - Help.!

Hi there ...

From what I understand, there are 2 ETACS in our RA.?
One for the wipers, headlights etc, & 1 for the ACD, is that right.?

Just wondering if anyone has come across the ACD Warning Light.? - Anyone know how to fix this.?

Went to get it fixed thru Mitsubishi, & they've given me the cold shoulder because my car's been 'modified'.?
I need to know how to fix this because Mitsubishi are the only ones with the MUT III Tool so we can reset or diagnose.?

I'm now going thru my current tuner, & the scantool he used (worth $10K) tested everything as good, except for an " ETACS Failure " error.??
2 tuners ago, somehow he managed to *crash* the main ECU in the engine bay, had it sent away, restored/recovered, re-installed, & finished the tune.!
My last tuner tuned the car with no probs, got OK numbers, but the same persistent ACD warning lights keep showing.? They said to take it to Mitsu (here we go again)

Anyway ... I want my ACD working properly again.! - How do I get this fixed.? - Suggestions please.?

EvoScan can read and clear codes. Read the code then look up what it pertains to...

I'll be back later today, if not b4 the end of the week if they'll fit me in.? - Cheers.!

Well ... we don't know yet.? - Mitsubishi are being "very difficult" to put it politely ...
Initially it was fixed by topping up the ACD Fluid in the boot to the tune of 1/2Lt.?
All the codes were reset, test drive done, re-tested & the same codes re-appeared.?
T h o ... The ACD Warning Light has now disappeared, & I'm still driving 'my normal way' ...

The initial call was that I needed an AWC Computer, got advice elsewhere & he said NO it's not.!!
When I return back to Mitsu for the ECU reset, they said No, I'd need an ECU Compter,
PLUS an Emobiliser Computer, PLUS reset the Smart Key, before they can reset my ECU.? What the hell.?

The " U1428, U0126, U0101, U0100, U0141, U0121 " are all CAN Bus timeouts ...

The " U0431 " is an Over Voltage error. (at the time, I had LED reverse lights fitted, no load resistors)

The " C1617 " is an OverBoost error in the tuned map from my previous tuner.!

The difficult part is getting Mitsubishi to reset my ECU back to OEM & re-diagnose ...
Anyway ... I'm at a stalemate & now searching local boys in the racing arena to get my ECU reset as per Mitsu specs.
It's a simple procedure, shouldn't take 'that long' to actually reset, + with the added diagnosis & test drive, about an hour or so.?
Once the test come's back all clear, I can then go ahead & dyno tune the car & finish it off ...
So for now, I have 2 other avenue's to try 1st ... still waiting for a reply ...

I am going to mitsubishi with the exact same issue, but i am on stock motor and stock parts no tune. I also have the recaro seat issue, and two recalls that need to be done. What do you think my plan of action should be?

My apologies for thread jacking, but wanted to subscribe to this anyway , but what "recaro seat issue" are you referring to? And if you're completely stock, and have an issue like this...go straight to mitsu!

Also wanted to point out I had a steering wheel tilt (or angle maybe) sensor go in my RA, it was located between the steering wheel and the column/tree. With that sensor out, my ACD went ape sh*t. My RA was virtually un-drivable though, and had to get towed to the dealer. Just wanted to point out that the ACD & AWC pull info from sensors all over the car, so one bad sensor could be your problem...

Possibly from the staples coming apart and loosening the fabric on the seats? I know that was an issue.
