I herd the opposite. The UICP is a must change and the LICP isn't necessary unless you are pushing serious HP.

The LICP is the cold pipe, so its not as critical to replace. Now the 4G63 is reversed compared to the 4B11T, so the UICP is the cold pipe. This may be where the confusion is setting in.

Exactly right. It's been this way starting with the X and '09 RA.

more specifically, this is how the 4b11t is setup as opposed to the 4g63t

but to answer the question, it's up to you and how picky you are. Some people will pay extra for the cooler looking, bigger brand name pipes - but in the end they're still just pipes

UICP is more important for 2 reasons on the RA 4b11t engines:

1) It's the hot pipe

2) The stock pipe is all rubber that stretches and expands under boost (even under stock boost pressures)

I was also looking at the Ultimate racing one which replaces the top pipe and the pipe that goes into the intercooler. Is there no difference?

have you considered this ?

http://magnusmotorsports.com/product...wer-ic-piping/

It is 2.75" as opposed to 2.5" that you get from the Ultimate Racing setup.
