Omegis RA to Evo X swap progress
Got my car back from the dealer today with a new transmission, new SST fluid, and a new SST filter for free. Back to fine tuning the EBCS.
As far as ECU info goes, as previously mentioned, the two pieces of data looked at for warranty claims are the CVN and Cal ID. When you flash your car to stock for warranty work, these two alphanumeric strings will pass as stock, appearing as though the ECU has never been flashed. Now I know there is talk about a flash counter but in my case, that wasn't factored into collected data for warranty work, only the CVN and Cal ID were documented.
Also, when the new transmission and TCU were installed, the car put out a "Service Transmission" code. From what I understood when talking to the tech, he had to reconnect the old TCU to clear the code, download the data from the old TCU (VIN association, etc.), and push that data to new TCU. Apparently the connector for the RA has 6-pins and the one for the Evo X has 20-pins. Sounded to me like there is some form of TCU communication available because I don't believe he was referring to the ECU. Just food for thought.

That sounds right, new transmission needs to matched to the engines VIN/ECU. Glad it all worked out, now on to more powa!!!
I was talking with a friend of mine who has BMW, and he was telling me that it's $500 to replace the battery because they also have a small chip inside that needs to be mated to the ECU. $500 for a battery, I hate BMW's more and more each day...
