As far as telling me to stop postinq, um, why don't you stop sucking your mom's tit and man up! You are frustrated because your car is messed up and so you take shots at someone just trying to help? Great response junior, in the real world men act like men and show respect to others, and immature little boys, well, I think you probably already know how litle boys act, no one needs to explain that to you.

I thought you might appreciate advice from someone who had actually gotten their car setup properly to run the Cobb Stage 2 map. But as wise MEN say, misery loves company, so rather than consider the advice, I guess you would prefer to share your misery. Good luck.
i figured that the DOUBLE SPACE you would have figured that the rest of the statement was just in general.... but i guess not..... no hard feeling.... and the funny thing no one was talking **** about you either....

mad sb

i think imma have to drop by to socal cobb and have to look at it.... and the injectors are good... i just swapped them out today with new ones....

GENERAL info....

and same thing... slight knock.... not as high was before but its still there...

Sure, mixing will be fine. Just enough to give you a few points bump in octane rating.

You mentioned in a previous post the knock is not that bad. Ironically, the ambient temps are cooler yesterday and today. Do you find a correlation?

One more suggestion, do you have the OEM drop-in filter? Perhaps the K&N is causing the car to lean out; just enough to give you in-consistent knock on hotter days?

Good luck and report back.

I would also try different gas stations. I used to work for Exxon (my first job was a quality control engineer) and we would go out to gas stations that had weird order numbers and take samples from their tanks. Sometimes stations will order lesser grade and fill their premium tanks with crap gas. It sucks that they do this but it is a real threat. Anyways good luck with your problem! Thought I would chime in because this made me think of me experiences.

100 will not hurt anything at all. You want the octane as high as possible so the less 91 you have in the tank and the more 100 the better.

What you are trying to establish is if the knock is real or false. If it is false it will stay the same with the 100 octane. If it goes away or way down, you have real knock and need to stay out of wot as much as possible while you try to sort it out.

Higher octane is more resistant to detonation and can take a leaner afr and or higher boost before knock becomes an issue. Cobb socal should be able to sort you out.

Base maps are setup for the least common denominator... sounds like your car never liked the base maps and that is going to be the case for some cars... so.... I really think a good pro tune will sort you out, but you deff want to kill that knock asap.

thanks i have read that...

ok so have been gone for a few days working the crap out of the RA...

boost leak test.... checking every connections.... checked the turbo... checked for exhaust leaks... pretty much everything that can make my RA knock like crazy...

and did a 1:1 ratio 100 octane 5ga and 91 octane 5ga....

and the knock when away.......

now cobb is working on getting a new CA map...

i also feel that the 76 gas for summer blend is not true 91...

sigh

See how much time that would have saved you in the first place

Ok, Ok, enough rubbing it in. You should just get a pro tune man and be done with it. And since that was real knock you were getting lets hope that the damage has not already been done... that the catch 22 of knock scenario's and why I ALWAYS recommend the high-octane test first. If you jump from 91/93 to 100 and the knock does not go away or reduce considerably it probably isn't real knock... if on the other hand it does, your not knocking while your testing and you know to stay the F off the loud pedal till you can sort out the tune.

I learned all this way back in 2003 when my VIII had an injector go bad shortly after i purchased the car.... sadly I did not do the high octane test and kept driving it for months while I tried to figure it out.... Eventually it was the color of the piston tops that told me #3 injector had failed. Replaced the injectors... problem solved, but the damage was done. Years latter #3 piston finally let go at 70K miles.
