I was warned my coils would get too hot...

...and they were right
I got a perrty valve cover, that I put on when I changed my plugs (part of my X-Swap). I was told they trap heat, and could cause issues.
Sure enough, when sitting at long red-lights/idling after about 20 seconds I started hearing sporadic misfires. So I thought to myself "self, the poly-plastic cover doesn't exactly let in a ton of air. It covers the entire valve cover area, and has that fiber-glass material right over the coil packs. So it must not require being open, just the ability for heat to move"
And so here is my modification, so far so good, and it looks pretty good too

Not bad, although you should find/change all counts of the word "injectors" to the word "coils"

Also, it's about time for a wire tuck...

Yeah I put cop originally, but wasn't sure if MOST people would understand me <pointsatchiforbeingthefirsttorespond>
As for the wire tuck, I started to do it and then realized how much tape is used to hold all the wires together Is there a convenient little how-to floating around?

most people just extend the wire that goes to be back of the valve cover enough to get the wires off of it.

Heres a how to https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...e-cover-3.html . This is what i used to get a idea for the wiretuck. Simple enough requires a little soldering for extending the the wires to the sensor..pretty much what nunyas has said. As for this cover what issues? Ive had the cover over mine the last 20000 miles or so, and never noticed a issue . Hopefully this helps if you decide to wire tuck.

The first day after install the engine started to mis-fire from the coil packs getting too hot. It's sporadic and only when sitting at long red lights. But I'm kinda OCD and everything needs to be 'just-so' functionally speaking
Thanks for the How-To; damn they want me to cut the wires???

you don't "have to", but if you do, then you too can have an engine that looks like this:

I guess this is why the coltspeed cover has vents. I hate how it pushes down on the wires tho

I think it took a total of about 5 hours. 2.5 hours the first go, and then another 2.5 hours a few weeks later. Power tools sped things up
