ACD fluid drain plug

Where is the ACD fluid drain plug for a 2010 Lancer Ralliart Sportback? I would like to drain it out and replace it with Amsoil.

The drain plug is located on the bottom of the ACD, which is near the engine oil pan. It is a 24mm nut.

Are you talking about the transfer case or the acd pump oil?

Exactly, two totally different things.

ACD pump oil is what I want to change. I want to use Amsoil ATF there.

I already replaced the transfer case oil. I used Valvoline 80w90 GL5.

Why? The fluid is only used to apply pressure. Its not used for lubrication.

Some posts have indicated that when the car is used in extreme cold, the ACD pump dies quickly, and ATF with better cold flow properties might prevent that.

That is why I will replace it.

It only affected vehicles subjected to sub-freezing temps. You live in Florida. Doesn't make sense to go through the hassle to replace the fluid.

That being said, its your time and money. Have at it bro.

I was finally able to replace the ACD fluid with Amsoil.

What I did was remove the reservoir cap and loosen the bleeder screw. I used my mityvac vacuum pump on the bleeder screw, and after that, the fluid gravity bled. As long as the bleeder screw was wide open, I could gravity bleed the ACD.

The method where you turn the key on but don't start the engine, then hit the gas pedal did not work for me.

Hopefully I will get good life from the ACD pump.

You might want to drain that Gl5 and put diaqueen back in for the transfer case
