Decent power with full stock exhast

I am in the process of reverting back to my stock exhaust for emissions/warranty reasons and because of my possible upcoming career (law enforcement). I am still going to keep my coilovers for now and whatever else is installed. However, I'd like to get the most out of the car that I can in a safe manner with the stock exhaust, including the stock catalytic converter

Anyone here running the factory exhaust and getting decent dyno numbers?

Bryan was making decent power with his BBX-L on stock catback, but that cat is going to be the real power-killer if you put that back on there. If you just put the stock catback on, it shouldn't be noticeable that you don't have a cat unless someone does a visual inspection; noise difference is minimal with the stock muffler on.

Mine has the stock exhaust except for a HFC and when I even redline it, I hear more of the engine/turbo spool than the exhaust. You also could go with the Works factory looking muffler that they redone the internals on to improve flow.

Are you going to ticket yourself when you speed around in your tuned beast with stock exhaust?

At least it won't be an emissions-compliance ticket...

True that.

Quick question... anyone here have a "muffled" test pipe installed on their aftermarket catback? How's the "stink" from the test pipe?

Warranty Issue? Last times heard you won't lose your warranty cause you have a catback and coilovers. Tune maybe but your dealer would have to be a complete *** to be that picky.

If you want to run the stock exhaust w/cat just add a cutout before the cat and keep it shut until "track days."

I'm not referring to the catback, I'm talking about the HFC.

I thought you could burn the OEM cat's if you push them too hard? I think that's incentive enough to not try pushing it too far

my first tuner (although I had a "meh" experience overall and don't use him anymore) dialed back my tune because he kept telling me he didn't want to burn my OEM cat's

True, didn't think about that. I might end up going with the stock catback and either a HFC or muffled test pipe, then getting a tune for it.
