Hiclone?

Hey guys, Im looking at putting a hiclone on the intake of my 09RA (prob 2, as thier website suggest better response and for fuel efficiency this way). Im wondering if anyone has gone down this route, or heard of anyone putting these in turbo'd cars. Thier site claims that it will assist the turbo to spool up up to 600rpm earlier. I am also running the gst basemap + boostpill tune, I am a little concerned that this may lean out my A/F ratio too much, any thoughts or ideas?

it's a fairy tale. With all of the bends that the air has to take to get into the engine not to mention that TURBO that blocks direct air flow and will obstruct anything that the hiclone will do to the intake flow. Then there's the throttle body, which will also disrupt any "swirling" action that thing will create. That product is a waste of money. Not only that but if it were to come loose it would get sucked into your turbo, which would result in a huge repair bill.

Mythbusters tested products like these a few years ago and found that all of them are a waste of money.

Feel kinda sorry for people who buy these products and actually think they do something..

Now if your talking about hooking up a leafblower to the intake then yeah thats when its time to get serious

Sounds like one of those Tornado fuel saver gimmicks. The Tornado reps at SEMA a few years back ignored me when I asked probing questions hahaha.

Hey L4NC3R
If you haven't already, you would best spend your money on a larger/better flowing intercooler. Especially in sunny Townsville.

I have some magic beans that you can put into your gas tank.

They add 10% more HP, 20% more torque, 10% better fuel mileage, 15% faster spool up, 10% better smelling exhaust, and you will have 50% less emissions.......

Dear lord, please do not buy one of these. I personally saw the aftermath of one that came apart in a STI intake and caused catastrophic failure immediately after being sucked into the compressor.

Well it seems everyone is agreed here, guess they are not worth trying, money best spent on other bits.
