Ok so occasionally I hear this noise it appears to be a low end motor knock. Its very slight and you actually have to listen for it usaully hear it when pulled up next to a building. It is rythmic and does increase with rpm. I talked with someone else who has V-8 makin this same sort of noice and was told it could be some piston slap. I only have 52,000 on the motor anyone else have any thoughts here.

 

I would not worry unless it gets louder.

 

Get a boroscope and look in the combustion chamber. Use a stehescope and isolate the noise. Check your oil etc...

If you're really concerned take it to a shop and have them look at it. Not much you can do over the internet.

 

This was more in the hope someone else has had this problem. Oil is good I change it every 1500-2000 miles depending on how hard I drive it. The noise is ever so slight and usually only after its hot. Was trying to be lazy. I finally have a few days off and will look into it a bit further. Knowing anything with the way the transmission is setup on these cars thats more than likely the source.
