Front Motor Mount = Knock?
Front Motor Mount = Knock?
I don't know if there is any coincidence here but I installed my Torque Solution front motor mount yesterday and now there is an audible knock coming from underneath / engine area. I understand that switching to a harder mount equals more vibrations and what not but would it somehow create a knocking sound? I'm going nuts trying to figure out link between a new motor mount and engine knock have. You cant really hear it unless you have the car in idle with the windows up and radio off.
I do notice however that when I first turn on the car the first initial movement of the engine does cause something to hit something else (you can feel it hit once) Like maybe my mid pipe hitting the drive shaft bolt. That awesome knock is also brand new. I really don't want to install my old front mount to see if it is the culprit but i might have to.... thoughts/ideas/theories?

per your advice I swapped out the motor mount and put the stock one back on...fired it up and all sounds of knock were gone, not even then loud big one when you first turn it on. I put the torque solutions mount back in and checked the bolts and sure enough there was a gap in between the bolt and the frame (maybe 1-2mm tops).
