Spun bearing?

Yes guys another one for you.

Searched and searched but cant find exact similar problem.

Lets start off by saying new built motor only has about 6k.

I was driving on the highway in 4th gear and said let me spool up a little bit. Felt great when i was pulling and great after. Got off my exit and heard a knocking tap. Its hard to tell with my car because tapping i hear my 272 always, and my triple plate. So i pulled over right away and car wasnt tapping on idle. i turned the car off and check my oil. That was super low right under low mark also light turned on after. So i started driving it home and idle no knock but it only started knocking after 2k and got louder as rpm when up. When i got home i only have a quart of oil. i put that in check oil and it was at low mark. Now that i put the quart in it starts to knock at 3k now instead of 2k. After taking it for a ride i ent back home and check oil again no shavings on the dip. Tomorrow im going to drop oil and see what drops out.

What do you guys think so far.

Again else you will suggest while im working on the car already

Is your CEL flashing when you get into boost?

Cut your oil filter open, you'll know if you spun a bearing..or drop the oil pan and check that way..Sounds like the symptoms of a spun bearing.

Sounds like your new engine consumes oil and you burned quite a bit of it cruising in 4th gear.

Unfortunately, even just 1 quart low can spin a bearing and you sound well below that.

Drop the oil and cut open the filter to be sure. Any copper/silver flakes/shavings and I'd prepare for a rebuild.

Yep....my buddy just went through his 2nd motor cause of racing on low oil.. Time for a rebuild. Im on my 3rd engine now in 4 months cause of other issues. We will just say oil starvation and half assing the job together. I dont let the oil get below the half way mark.

ok so today i had a chance to drop oil pan. Oil looks fine but has like metallic tiny glitter shavings. smaller then a 1/12th of a inch. When i cold start it it does a 3 second knock then becomes normal. So i put a screw driver to the valve cover and the left side sounded fine but the right side you can here the knock. Anybody think its a bad lift? bent valve?

I was driving low on oil so dont really know.

going to drop the pan again tomorrow and play with rod and see but i figured i see some opinions. thanks

If your oil looks like glitter brarings are done... tear it down and find out which ones are bad...

Do you have any local companies that can do oil analysis?
Try your local truck workshop, that way you can get your oil tested and work out what the metal flakes are.
