TurboXS catback exhaust

I ordered the TurboXS CBE from Maperformance here on evom.
Hopefully these pictures will help others deciding on this exhaust System as the only shots I could find were stock pictures or installed pics from the back only.

Got it mounted up today and took a video. (Sorry for the static, using the craptastic go pro internal mic) Just imagine deep tone where you hear static :P

Forgot to mention anyone bolting this up to the stock cat will need to reuse the bolts and copper shims. The new shim and bolt are ment for a new straight pipe or high flow cat.

I'm getting a vibration / rattle from under the car in the rear. I think it's the heat shield below the spare tire as it does not happen until the exhaust is hot.
Has anyone applied Dynaliner to the underside of a heat shield (opposite side away from the exhaust/between the shield and car) ?

I'm thinking a few options are:
1. Stick on Dynaliner to the topside of shield.
2. install rubber washers between backside of shield and underside of car.
3. Remove heat shield and install reflective gold/silver heat shield to the body of the car?

The TurboXS has been on my consideration list for a bit, so it's always helpful when people take the time to do this. Thanks for posting.

I would check to see if it's making contact with the driveshaft. My buddies RA had a UR piece and it would sound like a rattle too but never occurs in hot and warm days.

Nice, I will definitely be upgrading mine as well in the future..my car only has 35k and the stock cat seemed to be rusted a lot worse then i thought it would be. But I agree TurboXS seems to be a good product for the price.

It didn't seem to be close to the drive shaft but I will get under there and take a look hopefully this week.

Good luck
I'm actually deciding between this one or the UR one.

overall workmanship looks really nice. I'm a little surprised that the tips are riveted on judging by the pictures (please correct me if I'm wrong) versus completely welded to the piping.
Is the exhaust from the turbo back or from the catalytic convertor?

Yeah I was a little surprised as well but I guess that makes tip repairs/ replace a lot easier .
I just got the catback ..but they do have a high flow cat and straight pipe option for a little more.

I have been running the full Turbo back with high flow cat for a while now. This system is amazing. It is true quality and amazing performance and sound. There is no reason to pay the insane prices some of the other exhaust makers are asking. I have to admit it was worth every penny.

Got the same exhaust on my car. Really happy with it too.
At first it seems a little too loud but now im actually finding it a little quiet these days.
Nice job putting the pics and video together as well

Update:
Just an FYI for the Sportback owners looking at this exhaust. Because of the way our black plastic diffuser thing sticks out farther than the sedans the tips are recessed. At idle with no air pushing the hot exhaust away it rises and melts the plastic.

You can see the plastic has melted and deformed a little. It's not really noticable unless you get down on your knees but I thought I should share this. Sedan owners should not have to worry about this.

For the sportback owners we have a couple of options to fix this.
  1. Purchase Colt Speed carbon fiber exhaust guards ($300+)
  2. Fabricate our own DIY guards using aluminum and rivits or stick on gold/silver heat shield.
  3. Wait for someone to make a rear difusser to replace our lame black plastic piece.
  4. Just wait and see how bad it gets, then buy a new OEM peice for $140 and mitsubishiparts.net (currently my choice )
