09 ralliart rpms issue

So recently I took my lancer ralliart all stock to the track. Got 14.4 if anyone's interested lol. But anyways after that its been acting weird. When in idle at random points the rpms go up and down and stop. The rpms don't pass 1 though. It did that for a while than it stopped. Weird thing is it did it before at random moments but not as much as after the track. What's wrong??!!

Is it that your idle is over 1000rpm? Check that your bov hose is connected properly and also check that your fuel pressure regulator hose hasnt come off either. http://www.evoxforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18366

Hopefully that fixes it for you

No no my idle is normal. It's at random intervals that the rpms start going up in down very fast but it doesn't pass 1000 rpms it's really weird than it stops for awhile than does it again

You may look for an exhaust leak, my car has been doing something similar for a while now. I finally took off the heat shield over the exhaust manifold and discovered I have a small leak. My idle will stumble and my AFR will go to 16** but only for a sec or two then go back to 14** and it does not happen all the time.

My check engine light keeps going on and off so maybe they're related issues. I got and appointment with Mitsubishi motors on Monday my car is still under warranty so they'll check what's the issue. Ill keep you posted if it is a leak.

So recently took my car to Mitsubishi motors they checked the issue and it was a vacuum hose from the intake manifold that was off idk know how that happened but it fixes the problem!!

Ah, yes, I'm pretty sure I know the hose - it came off on mine, too.

I noticed it via Wideband gauge fluctuations, and went looking for it because something didn't look right in the logs with the fuel trims.

It happens a lot. You were sent a link with a picture of the issue you were having. and where the hose was. One thing you should do is get an extra vac line clamp or zip tie and clamp that sucker down around the nipple it plugs into. Upon many visits at the track I have seen quite a few guys have theirs pop off under WOT or launching. If you do not secure it most likely it will happen again. Make sure its secure before you track it again. I have even seen it happen to people who were not even at the track. Not sure why it comes off so easy

Same, vacuum hose from the intake manifold, has happened a few times even after securing it the first time but she is on good now. No racing here just boss driving. Know a few people with same issue 2009 2010 seems to be common, lousy clamps?

5 years of driving 09 Ralliart, I have experienced a lot of issues if anyone wants stats

Timing chain stretch (2 time loser) just got this sensor warning again yestarday after starting it up for first time after storing car for 2 months
09 rebuilt engine in 2013 (dues to 2nd timing chain stretch causing engine damage sensor failed not covered under warrant passed it by 10km)
AWD system failed total replacement (though about moving to trunk but might have air circulation issues so didn't)
Random acceleration & deceleration at high speeds rpm shoot through the roof
ECU sensor failed replaced
Check engine light car disabled 3 issues over 5 years
Single bang sound engine (detailed)
Cam sensor failed
Fuel pressure regulator hose replaced
Fuel delivery leak
Fuel pump replaced
Fuel pump relay
Replaced panel filter in the std airbox
Serpentine belt severed pulley and tensioner also replaced
Rad hose replaced (aged) no issue
Fuel system service
Trans services
Diff service
New brake pads and discs (only once still all good)
Front tie rod replaced
3rd set of tires of Yokohama Avanti 168km highway miles

Dude is this what I have to expect with my ralliart??!! I've had mine for less than a year with about 57,000! I drive it daily with ease! Don't over exert the car. Gone to the track a few times that's it really.
