Price of Timing Chain

I have 2010 RA with about 34k. I am thinking about changing my timing chain for the new updated version. The reason is I do not use my car on daily basis, however I do a lot of long trips and I am always afraid that I will get the warning while I am on my way and then I will have to get my car towed. Does anyone know the how much the dealer will charge me for the part and labor. Thanks for help.

Cost = one upper appendage(arm) and one lower appendage(leg). + Tax.

But in all seriousness, call your local shop and they will give you a quote on the phone.

I would wait until it happens. You can still drive (gently) after the SES and until the maintenance is performed. You may never need it.

I have seen them online between 75 and 100 dollars. Labor rates depend on the shop you go to and their experience. I can tell you the timing chain is a pain in the a** to change and very time consuming. Expect to pay a high labor rate.

I was told the same thing change it when you get the check timing chain warning, well I did and it took out my engine bent a piston and scored my cylinder $8000, just saying I would have rather have just spent a grand

Sorry to hear that.....how many miles did you have on the car and what were your oil change intervals? I am at 34K now. I read about one Evo X (I think it was 2008) getting new engine at only 18K miles because of bent piston after the chain stretched. Owner also did not get the timing chain warning.
