Recently just bought a Ralliart with very low mileage on it, it hasn’t even been over a week of me owning it but it’s already making this funny sound, does anyone know what it could be, I would really appreciate it, it’s a whiny sound which is constantly on and it’s coming from near the alternator and timing chain

 

There was a recall for idler pulley and accy. belt.


You can just easily replace yourself in 30 minutes or less

 

Veronica is correct... I had my recall done not that long ago for this, even though I wasn't experiencing any issues. If that doesn't fix it then the only other thing I can think of off the top of my head would be the alternator bearing going out.

Just to rule out the funny sounds the 4B11T does normally. Is a very noisy engine, sounds like a diesel one.
