How To: Locate and Install Boost Pill
There isn't much reason to install a pill UNLESS you have a custom tune that requires it. Unless you know what you're doing, I'd leave the pill alone unless your tuner suggests it.
You can get some cookie-cutter tunes from companies such as AMS and TTP for $4-500, but custom tunes tend to be higher because they require extra time and work on the dyno.
Most intakes will require a new tune. The Injen intake might be an exception.
I also live in WI (Green Bay area) but I've yet to brave the winter with my RA.

Hum.... yes, Pill is not required unless after a tune;
I forgot to mention, this thread is for those with AMS tune that require a Pill; so don't go ordering and installing Pills that don't need ordering

when i get a boost pill...does that mean i have to get it tuned from ams? cause im getting a tuned for something else for a differeent part...im soo confused...do i have to tune for each different part i get?
when using the boost pill your tuner must adjust the waste gate duty cycle maps in your ecu. It is set to 100% through most of the map from factory and this will cause you to over boost if the pill is installed and not compensated for.
For the AMS ECU flash they give you the boost pil with that purchase, but then you need to tune the car too, is that correct?
Umm, nevermind that question:
"Your car MUST have a tune to use this pill. The boost drops in the higher rpms even with the pill. It is a function of the airflow the turbo can produce and what the engine can injest. " http://www.amsperformance.com/cart/A...oost-Pill.html
I was just looking at the AMS ECU Flash page:
http://www.amsperformance.com/cart/A...ase-Flash.html
I guess the total cost here would be the $495.00 (AMS ECU + Boost Pill) Plus the Tune (dynotime? too?)

I just looked at the engine bay to do this mod. Wow that is a tiny space. Any tricks to doing this?
Do you remove the entire line with pill inside. Remove pill. Install new pill. Then reattach line with new pill? I just don't want to drop that little pill lol.

that's probably the easiest way. get it all the way out of the engine bay, then use a pick or something to push the old one out and the new one in. make sure the new one goes in the same spot between the clamps, and re-install and re-clamp everything in place

I got the clamps but the rubber from the upper intercooler where its attached to is on there pretty good.
