2010 Ralliart - Window Chrome Plastidip
Well, I figured it was time I gave back to the community.

So, that link is a Photobucket album it has all my pictures. The walkthrough is generic, but there was a difference or two.
first, on the 2010, there is only bolt holding the chrome on. It's near the center pillar of the car. Once the bolt is out, just like the 08 and 09, you will slide the the trim towards the center of the car about an inch, and lift it out.
As far as the painting of the trim goes one huge piece of advice... PATIENCE.
other than that, long slow sweeps with the plastidip. I did 4 passes a coat and it came out perfectly. If you have any questions about anything I did, or any of the pictures please ask.
Also, you will note in one picture there is a crumbled up piece of black rubber. The paint didn't go on even, so I peeled it off. started from Square one.

I think my Ralliart might be a freak? It came stock without chrome on the windows. I'm pleased that it's black, but seems everyone else has the chrome... or maybe it's a Canadian thing?
regardless, your work is very nice! Patience = quality.

thanks for the compliment.
I've read the same thing in the past. About canadian Ralliarts having some cosmetic differences. There is something different on your front fenders as well right?

^ You can do that with anything, but it also costs more. Plus the fact that the more work YOU do on your own car makes you feel more accomplished and even more so like you're own. Just my feeling/opinion.

I may end up just buying the black trim.. not a bad idea.
While I do agree that doing more work personalizes it. I'm one of those guys who likes it perfect.
and no, I didn't do any prep work at all. Well, besides washing the chrome with Dawn. Speaking of which. Water on the trim means skewing of the paint. make sure your stuff is COMPLETELY dry. I had some water run off onto the chrome after I thought it was dry. that was the one I had to peel and restart.

My wife and I make about 150k a year combined. I don't mind spending 200$ at the dealership for black trim that looks like it came off the showroom floor. I also didn't want to ever have to re-paint/plasti-dip it.
