ddm tuning 55w hid retrofit
this is for OEM HID equipped headlights only
so i did this a couple a months ago just never got around to taking pictures, i still need to align the bulbs left and right just haven't had a warm night to to it yet
in order to do the 55w retrofit all you need is their 55w d2s kit and a pair of their h1/h7 to 9006 adapters
http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/H1...-Adaptor-Cable
i used the raptor kit as it has a larger ballast since the D2S will be on alot so just in case i got the larger unit
http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/Ap...Raptor-HID-Kit
install is like any other,
-pull out the oem ballast and bulb
-disconnect the cable from the ballast to the bulb, their is a small washer holding the cable in to the inside of the housing with some patients and careful hand work you can get it out from behind the washer with out having to disassemble the headlight (if your impatient i'd reccomend doing this if your going to bake your headlights)
-trim OEM ballast area to fit new ballast, 3m new ballast into place
- i ran the cable from the ballast to the bulb thru the D2S housing cap (this way your not punching a hole in the headlight housing) with grommets i had left over from my fog light install... and sealed inside, edges, and outside of the grommet with some clear automotive silicone... i've yet to have any moisture problems
so far this install has held up in the artic temperatures of alberta, the drive from edmonton to victoria and the moist weather in victoira for the last month and still no issues
before 55w kit
