Removed nose ring w/o taking off bumper

Ok, I think it was 07Outty who mentioned this.
Not sure how he did, so I just gave it a try.

First you pop the hood and removed that black cover that holds the intake box in place.

Then you start on the bottom mesh. You push in the corner of it to pop it out of it's sockets, then unscrew the two top screws holding them in place.
Remove it and unsrew all the screws holding the ring in place.
theres like 8 just on the bottom and sides lol.

do the same with the top mesh, but you go from uptop where you removed that black cover.

Remember to use a smaller screwdriver.

If it's your first time remocing the ring, there will be some tape holding it down on the sides. so you will have to slowly pry it off

then plasti-dip

and re-install.
Try to use less screws when re-installingso it will be easy for removal when you repaint.

this is alot easier that taping it up. and cleaner.
again, credit goes to 07Outty for mentioning this.

feel free to add in if you know of any easier steps.

looks pretty good without the plastic mesh stuff there. obviously that stuff protects the IC a little though. but without it you can see the IC better.

good job on the chrome ring though. im definitely going to try this.

..thanks for the exellent write up.

that is exactly the way i did it my first time.

now i only use four screws to hold the ring in. ( two on each side , closest to the center "cross-bar" )

nice, looks good. what kind of rims are those? MB perhaps?

on a side note, that's a really easy way to access your intercooler to clean bugs and crap off.
